The
MCAS line of
card-access controllers and software is available to anyone who needs a
card access solution.
Kadtronix products are ideal for applications including access control,
security, automation,
vending machine and laundry equipment controllers, hotel room access,
gated
communities, industrial control, pumping stations, and more.
(These products are also available to OEMs and resellers who are
looking to add low-cost card-access systems to their product line.)
Three MCAS product
variations are available:
- MCAS-1810
- MCAS-Online
- MCAS-USB Online
- MCAS-OEM
MCAS-1810
is a standalone controller
that is capable of operating without host intervention. (A host
PC is required only for setup, card-user upload, and maintenance
activities.) MCAS host software provides features for detecting
available controller(s), adding/removing card users. This
controller features
battery-backed onboard database, 1000 card-user capacity, time/date,
and multiple host comm.

Compatible card-readers include magnetic-stripe & proximity. MCAS-1810
is available with one of several host options: RS-232, RS-485, and
Ethernet LAN (TCP/IP). All but RS-232 permit the use of networked
controllers for applications involving multiple doors or gates.
Available card-reader interfaces include TTL (clock/data), RS-232, and
Wiegand. Companion FWTB provides control
relay
for activating a door, gate, or other external device. Also
provides
optional RJ45 port for Ethernet TCP/IP host comm.
MCAS-Online is intended for use in
applications requiring a high number of card-users. It uses
specialized contrrollers for online ("live") access. Supporting
up to 100,000 card-users, MCAS-Online controllers may be daisy-chained
or networked to
handle multiple doors and/or gates. MCAS host software provides
configuration and database maintenance options. Unlike standalone
controllers, MCAS-Online requires a continuous "live" link to the host
PC. The MCAS host software must also be continously running at
all times. Compatible controllers include the following:
- MC-5150
(RS-485)
- WC-5150
(Wi-Fi)
If wireless operation is desired, we now
offer a Wi-Fi solution, the WCAS.
MCAS-USB Online is an easy to install, low-cost
plug-and-play card access solution. It is similar in design and
operation to MCAS-Online, but utilizes USB card reader. It also
uses optional USB relay controller for door/gate access.
MCAS-OEM API was developed
specifically for OEMs and commercial entities who would like to develop
their own custom Windows software for use with MCAS online controllers. It uses a
special MC-5150 controller for online ("live") access. The
applications
programming interface (API) includes documentation
and a demonstration project (with source code) to help get your
application up and running in the
shortest possible time. Although
the demonstration was written using Microsoft Visual C++,
6.0.
Howerver, the API can be used on any platform which supports standard
Microsoft DLLs.
MCAS-OEM supports any number of
card-users, limited only by your implementation
and available resources on the host PC. (MCAS-OEM
controllers
require a continuous live-link access to the host PC.
Your custom host
software must also be continously running.)

Magnetic
Stripe Card-Reader
Designed
for long-life and dependable service, the swipe reader accepts a card
from
either end of the device. The reader and control unit are attached via
several feet of cable. For best protection, install the control
unit
away from the reader, behind a wall or inside a secure container.
