The Robot Drive Kit (RDK) is the basis for a powerful cog-driven robot.  Available in two forms, this system gives you the required parts needed to build your own robot platform.  The RDK-4 (left) contains components for building a four-wheel drive platform, including motors, cogs (gears), pulleys, metal tubes, stiffeners, belts, nuts, and bolts.  The RDK-4 is the basis of the Workman III robot platform.  (Templates are included for building this platform.)

The Workman II and III robot platforms feature RDK components.    They use belt and cog drive systems to power each wheel.   The 12VDC motors are mounted inside the wheel compartments.  Check out the Robot Drive Kit Manual for construction and assembly details of the Workman III.

The RDK features powerful 12VDC motors.   These  2.25A, 2370RPM devices feature two #10 leads (18" long).

 
 
 
Once you've built a platform, you'll need controllers to bring it to life.  The RDK drive kit is compatible with the MC7 motor controller.  This PWM device provides variable speeds from stop to full forward or reverse and is available at  Diverse Electronic Services.
