  • Description
  •
The Wi-Fi Card Reader System (WCRS) provides wireless magstripe and proximity card-reader devices for home, office, or industry.  Utilizing 802.11 Wi-Fi technology, the system provides the capability to access user card-swiped data from from virtually anywhere.  We can provide custom software to handle just about any application you have in mind.  And the system is expandable, allowing any number of readers to be added to the network.  Available card readers include magnetic stripe (i.e., magstripe), barcode and proximity.  The WCRS is well-suited for a number of applications including the following:
  • Access control
  • Tradeshows / Conventions
  • Security systems
  • Kiosks
  • Point-of-sale
  • Department stores
  • Time / attendance
  • Research
  • Robotics

  • Wi-Fi Interface
  •
The WCRS is a custom-integrated unit that features card-reader and network Wi-Fi interface, which are separately contained and connected by link cable.  The reader accepts user card-swipes and communicates the card data to the interface where it is transmitted to Wi-Fi enabled computer(s) and wireless access points.  Once the client PC or laptop has received the status information, it can then process the data for display, logging, etc.  The Wi-Fi interface is completely configurable and supports a number of protocols including UDP, TCP, etc.

External connections are provided for antenna, optional wired LAN, and A/C power.

WCRS is available for use with either magnetic stripe, barcode, or RFID (proximity) card-readers.  The card-reader may be wall-mounted or attached to a panel or other surface.  The reader receives power from the Wi-Fi interface and therefore does not require a separate power source.  The reader attaches to the Wi-Fi interface via link cable.  No additional wiring is needed.
